Recognition of Karabakh's independence and return of surrounding territories: here is the solution, says Zatulin

The recognition of Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) and the return of the territories controlled by the NKR defense forces are seen as the only possible way towards achieving the settlement of Karabakh conflict, according to Russian MP, Head of Russian State Duma's (parliament) committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin.

"I think it is necessary to consider facts and accept that the possibility of war should be ruled out. Without military operations and a
military victory, Karabakh will not undoubtedly give up its independence gained at such a heavy cost. Hence, the final settlement of the conflict is possible only through the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh and the return of the surrounding territories controlled by the NKR self-defense forces," he told today journalists in Yerevan.

At that, the Russian parliamentarian noted that no military operations should be allowed unless the parties reach an agreement over the problem.
