Ruben Hakhverdyan to celebrate 60th anniversary

December 3 marks the 60th jubilee of famous composer and singer Ruben Hakhverdyan. On this occasion, the musician will give a concert in Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex on December 5.

"I don't know what I will do after 60, but one thing I can say for sure - I will get seriously drunk," he told a news conference on Monday.

Asked what he would like to get as a birthday present, the artist said, "I want my people to be better-off so as I can sell my tickets for a higher price."

Tickets for the upcoming concerts are already on sale. The price ranges from 1000-5000 drams.

"My thoughts are reflected in my songs. Now I have a more balanced approach to things that used to make me nervous," the musician said, asked what has changed in his life.

He also expressed sorrow for some of his friends who are no longer alive.

"The war goes on. It's a struggle for survival. Emigration has assumed large scales. Seventy thousand people have left the country recently," Ruben Hakhverdyan said, adding that such situation explains certain state officials' professionalism.

Speaking about happiness, the musician said, "Everyone is happy in his own way. If I write a song and people applaud, that gives me pleasure."

At the end, Hakhverdyan compared himself with craftsmen correcting his mistakes by singing.

"I know no other form of art," he mentioned.
