Zharangutyun disapproves of Armenia-Turkey Protocols

Keeping the issue of Armenia-Turkey Protocols in parliament agenda is inadmissible, according to Armen Martirosyan, MP affiliated with Zharangutyun (Heritage) Party’s parliamentary faction.

“We disapprove of the first section of National Assembly’s big agenda, as it maintains the protocols. Zharangutyun keeps insisting on the possibility of withdrawing signatures [from those Protocols],” he told a parliament session on Monday.

At that, he referred to Chatham House prize awarded to Turkish President Abdullah Gul for being the initiator of Armenian-Turkish rapprochement and considered it serious reason for withdrawing signatures.

Nonetheless, National Assembly’s big agenda was put to vote and approved by the majority of MPs (86).
