Our response will be destructive and final when the moment comes: Serzh Sargsyan

The war over the Nagorno Karabakh in 1992 was imposed upon Karabakh and Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia's President, said as he addressed the army after the recent war games in Nagorno Karabakh.

"But we have passed that path. My military friends, elder military officers present here remember how any one not lazy in Azerbaijan would speak about the date when he/she would have tea in Stepanakert [Karabakh's capital] or Shushi. That dream of many people remained inside them and they took it with them to the other world. Then too it seemed to them that they were very strong and could solve issues, even in a short period of time," said Mr Sargsyan.

Further he said that when the time comes and when the Armenians and Karabakhi people are obliged to defend our homeland, this time the response will be a destructive and a final one.

"Never have we wanted any war, but we were then simply obliged to defend our homelands. When the moment comes, when we are obliged [to do it], this time our strike must be destructive and final," said Serzh Sargsyan.
