Armenian journalist Manana Aslamazyan at last picked up her TEFI prize

Russian-Armenian journalist Manana Aslamazyan has picked her TEFI prize today awarded to her for "personal investment in the Russian TV."

The prize was handed by Head of Russian Television Academy Foundation Mikhail Shvidkoy.

Earlier Manana Aslamazyan had had to leave Russia following a scandal at a checkpoint for allegedly not declaring large amounts of money while crossing the border.

Internews - the organization she used to work for - had been shut down over the scandal in Russia.

The awards ceremony has taken place in the Pan-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow that hosted the International Congress of Broadcasters.

According to Interfax, the audience welcomed her with long applause as she entered the hall where the ceremony was taking place.
Aslamazyan had not been able to pick up the prize at the ceremony in Saint Petersburg earlier because being abroad.

"I am glad to pick up the award surrounded by friends. Thanks to all those who voted for me. When you are not in the country for 3 years and you are remembered, I will not forget that," she has said.

Manana Aslamazyan has also said that she is thinking about returning to Russia.

"I am thinking about returning to Russia, but I have contract for the coming year and I work in Armenia," she has said.
