Zatulin denies resignation rumors

Kostantin Zatulin, the fist deputy chair of Russian State Duma’s Committee on CIS Affairs and the director of the CIS Institute, has denied the rumors about his resignation.

“They were attempting to remove me from post for a whole week, but I will remain in office,” the Russian official announced today.
Citing its sources, Russian newspaper Vedomosti reported recently that Zatulin’s resignation might be put to vote during the upcoming session of Yedinaya Rossia (United Russia) party.

Earlier, several countries, including Azerbaijan, recognized Zatulin as a persona non-grata for visiting Nagorno Karabakh Republic to monitor parliamentary election.

During a recent meeting of his party, Kostantin Zatulin read out State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov’s congratulatory address to the Union of Armenians of Russia.
