Armenian patriarch receives newly appointed French ambassador

Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II has received newly- appointed French Ambassador to Armenia Henry Reno.

Highlighting French Embassy’s role in the promotion and development of closer ties between the two friend countries, the Patriarch spoke of the French Republic’s attitude to Armenia, particularly its firm stance on the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide.

The French diplomat highly appreciated Armenian church’s role in the preservation of Armenian people’s national identity.
The parties discussed the current challenges and problems faced by the Armenian church. They also spoke of the Armenian diocese of France and Armenian community’s life.
