Armenian parliamentary delegation to visit Syria

The Chairman of Armenia's National Assembly, Hovik Abrahamyan, will pay a three-day official visit to the Syrian Arab Republic late on November 22.

According to a press release by Armenia's National Assembly, the delegation includes also the head of the Republican Party of Armenia's parliamentary faction, Galust Sahakyan, the head of the parliamentary faction of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, ARF-D), Vahan Hovhannisyan, and other high-ranking officials.

As the first leg of his Syrian tour, Mr Abrahamyan will meet with Syrian the President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, Chairman of the People's Council of Syria (the parliament) Mahmoud al-Abrashi and Syrian Prime Minister Naci Otri.

Further Mr Abrahamyan will deliver a speech at the Syrian parliament before the Armenian and Syrian delegations will hold an extended session.

Mr Abrahamyan and his Syrian counterpart will later sign a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Armenian delegation will also visit Aleppo and Deir ez-Zore.
