Wolves tear up sheep in Armenian village

A group of wolves attacked and tore up 40 sheep in the village of Avshar in Aararat region in the early hours of November 21. The sheep were owned by an Avshar resident, Lazirov Mirzoyan. A similar attempt of attacking cattle occurred tonight, but the villagers managed to resist the beasts.

Lazirov Mirzoyan told Tert.am that the wolves also killed sheep owned by other residents in November 20 attack. He said the number of wolves has surged recently. No attacks on humans have been recorded.

The villagers have not turned for help to the local authorities, who are not attempting any assistance.
