Police catch robber who mugged old woman in Vagharshapat

On March 19, 2010, the police department in the town of Vagharshapat received a call that Siramarg K. was hospitalized with injuries.

At the scene of the incident, the police found out that two masked individuals had broken into Siramarg’s house at night, and under the threat of knife tied her with duct tape, stealing from her bag 15,550 drams and a 60,000-dram worth golden ring.

The woman was found helpless by neighbors and was immediately taken to a hospital.

As a result of joint operations launched by the Armavir regional police department and Vagharshapat police, Artak Hayrapetyan, 27, was found and taken to the police station at 10:30 p.m. on November 22.

Hayrapetyan is under detention. The investigative operations to find his accomplice are underway, the Public Relations Department of the Armenian Police reported.
