Who are Armenia's most influential political figures?

Head of the Armenian sociological centre Sociometer, Aharon Adibekyan, has unveiled the results of a recent poll to find out who Armenia's most influential political figures are.

At a press conference today, Adibekyan said that the list which includes 20 names presents the Armenian political elite.

"This is our political elite that affects the political processes, but whether it has positive or negative effect, is not known yet," said Mr Adibekyan, adding that it will not be clear unless a new poll is conducted.

The list of Armenia's most influential political figures, according to this poll, is headed by President Sargsyan.

The second most influential political figure is Gagik Tsarukyan, the head of Prosperous Armenia party, followed by Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

Chairman of Armenia's National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan is the forth in the list followed by Raffi Hovhanissian, the founder and the head of opposition party Heritage.

Leader of opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and former President Levon Ter-Petrosyan and the head of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's (Dashnaktsutyun, ARF-D) parliamentary faction, Vahan Hovhannisyan, occupy the 5th and 6th places respectively.

Mr Adibekyan did not enumerate all the 20 names, saying only that the last person in the list is independent MP Viktor Dallakyan.
