Turkish president calls on Serzh Sargsyan to maintain leader's role

Turkish President Abdullah Gul, on a visit in Switzerland, delivered a speech at the Swiss parliament Thursday, speaking of his country's foreign policies, including the Armenian Turkish relations and the landmark accord signed between the two countries in Zurich 13 months ago.

"Such problems are not easy to solve but we are determined to bring the Armenian-Turkish Protocols to life and continue our efforts towards establishing a long-lasting and comprehensive peace in the South Caucasus," he said. "Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has an important role to play at the current stage. We expect him to maintain the role of a bold leader and statesman."
