Armenian artist's masks showcased in Yerevan

Artists Union of Armenia is hosting today Lilit Stepanyan's private exhibition of masks.

Titled "Dimahandes ?2010" the exhibition will showcase 20 masks and 10 sketches.

"As a scene painter the works done with theatrical spirits are closer to me," Lilit Stepanyan told Tert.am, adding that her works feature themes related to Armenia and Armenians.

"Not only the colors are Armenian, but also the atmosphere and the decoration of the masks," she explained.

The Armenian atmosphere, according to her, can be noticed not only by locals, but also by foreigners.

"This style has no restrictions: the mask is quite extensive by its essence; it can be viewed from different angles," she added.

Further she said the exhibition is dedicated to the memory of her master - honored scene painter Grisha Sahakyan.

The exhibition will be open till December 3.
