Inflation in Armenia has been 8.1% since January

Armenia has from January to November seen an 8.1% inflation compared to the same period in 2009.

According to a press release by Armenia's National Statistical Service, prices in the consumer goods market have in the same period seen a 8.6% increase. Inflation in the foodstuff market has been 8.8%.

Prices of alcoholic drinks and cigarettes have risen by 1.5%, while non-foodstuff goods and services have during 11 months seen 10.1% and 7% rise respectively.

Compared to October the consumer goods market has seen a 1.6-per-cent inflation in November which has been caused mainly by a 3.1% increase in foodstuff (including alcoholic drinks and cigarettes) prices.

Inflation in non-foodstuff goods has been 0.5% in November, while prices in the services sector have dropped by 0.3%.

Average monthly increase in consumer prices has been 0.7% which has by three points exceeded the indicator of the same period last year - 0.4%.
