Ex-president attends opposition party's session

The regular session of the People's Party of Armenia kicked off Saturday at the Government session hall.

The meeting will focus on the party's activities. The participants will also elect a new board and a board chairman.

Attending the session is Armenian first president, leader of opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan, as well as members of pro-opposition political parties, including David Shahnazaryan (ANC), Petros Nakeyan (Democratic Homeland Party, Chairman), Armen Martirosyan, Stepan Safaryan (Heritage), Hmayak Hovhannisyan (Union of Political Scientists, Chairman), Ruben Tovmasyan (Armenian Communist Party) and Aram Karapetyan (New Times party, Chairman).

No representatives from ruling parties are present.
