Opposition has potentials for real struggle: Stepan Demirchyan

There are significant differences between the parties represented in opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), according to Stepan Demirchyan, the leader of the People's Party of Armenia.

"It was the common goal of reinstating constitutional order in the country that united all of them. ANC has a real potential for struggle" he said at his party's session on Saturday.

Demirchyan also spoke of the problems within the party, saying that they were mostly conditioned by socio-economic conditions.

"The deterioration of the socio-economic conditions in Armenia also affected the People's Party, as many of its members left the country, not having means of survival," Demirchyan said, adding that organization of local structure is one of the party's primary tasks for the near future.

Speaking of foreign challenges, Demirchyan first of all stressed the importance of resolving internal problems, characterizing the authorities' resignation a primary step in that direction.

"The People's Party will be in the first ranks of the struggle," he said.
