Hatis chief coach resigns

Chief Coach of Yerevan's basketball team Hatis, Gia Ghazanchyan, has submitted a resignation letter which has been accepted by the club's leadership, according to the club's website.

Ghazaryan has explained the move by failures Hatis had during the European Basketball Championship.
The club has thanked him for his immense efforts and wished further success in his coaching career.

According to local Armenian sports news website Armsport.am, Vardan Khachatryan - Gia Ghazanchyan's assistant - has been appointed to the position.

In European Basketball Championship Hatis appeared in the F group but could not win any matches there. However, it won a play-off and will compete with Russia's Dynamo at the 1/16 final.
