UN is 'biased', says head of Assembly of Azerbaijani Armenians

International organizations ignore the problems of the Azerbaijani Armenians, the head of the Assembly of Azerbaijani Armenians, Grigori Ayvazyan, has said.

"We have turned to the Armenian office of the UN High Commissioner on Refugees so that they take into account that besides the return of the so-called Azerbaijani refugees [to Karabakh and surrounding territories], there is also the problem of the Armenian refugees' return," said he at a press conference today.

Further, Ayvazyan said that the Assembly of Azerbaijani Armenians had turned to the UN office in Armenia, asking to organize a meeting over the issue, hold discussions and design preliminary programs.

But the Assembly has received no response so far.

"We have not received any written response since September 11. Ignoring the problem of the Armenian refugees has become their working style. What is it then, if not pro-Azerbaijanism?" asked Ayvazyan.
