Astana summit proved Armenia is defeated: expert

The document adopted in Astana reaffirmed all that we have always opposed to, Harutyun Serobyan, a public administration expert, told a news conference on Monday.

"The first clause of the document specifies what Armenia has to cede," he said, adding that by participating in the recent OSCE summit, Armenia reconfirmed its defeatism.

The expert believes that the OSCE summit was a failure.

"Eleven years later, an attempt was made to get together all the countries and problems of the continent. No summit was actually held, with the Russian president and foreign minister returning to their country ahead of time, and the French and US leaders not attending the discussion at all," he said, stressing that the declaration adopted at the summit focused only on the conflict in Afghanistan.
Agreeing with his colleague, political analyst Alexander Manasyan said that the summit in Astana was a failure not only for Armenia but also for the OSCE.

"The participants reiterated the policy OSCE has been conducting since 1992," he said, praising, however, the Armenian leaders' rhetoric.
