Astana failed to reach any of its 3 goals: Vardan Khachatryan

The OSCE Summit in Astana achieved none of the three goals it pursued; Social Democrat Hunchakian Party MP Vardan Khachatryan told a press conference today.

"Astana [summit] reached none of the aims it pursued," said he, meaning that the OSCE could not reach common ground over such issues as the incidents in Kyrgyzstan, approaches to resolve the existing conflicts, as well as issues related to the common security system in the OSCE area.

Speaking about Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's speech at the OSCE Summit Astana, Khachatryan hailed it "positive and important".

According to Khachatryan the importance of that speech was the fact that it was delivered against the backdrop of continuous bellicose statements by Azerbaijani officials.
