Armenian, Belgian foreign ministers discuss Armenia-EU ties

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met Tuesday with his Belgian counterpart Steven Vanackere in Brussels.

The two sides discussed the EU-Armenia relations and the further steps towards developing bilateral cooperation.

They both stressed the importance of establishing an active political dialogue, broadening legal-contractual collaboration, conducting consultations between their ministries, promoting cultural exchange and easing visa regime.

Speaking of cultural cooperation, the Belgian FM highly appreciated the establishment of Villa Ampen cultural center by the Poghosyan family in Brussels, saying that it was a serious contribution to the country's cultural life.

He also spoke of his country's efforts towards combating the internal political crisis.

FM Nalbandyan briefed his Belgian counterpart on the recent OSCE summit discussions on Karabakh and the joint statement.
The ministers also exchanged views on the recent steps towards the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.

Armenia's top diplomat invited FM Vanackere to Armenia to continue the current dialogue.

After his visit to Brussels, Nalbandyan left for Moscow to take part in a CSTO and CIS foreign ministers' sessions.
