Parliament approves amended state budget

The amendments to the 2011 state budget envisage expenditures of more than 1.1 trillion Armenian drams (AMD), Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan told the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Earlier, the parliament held long-lasting discussions over the draft budget, and the cabinet members detailed on the country's chief financial document. Later, the legislators proposed several amendments. Some of them were included in the draft and some will be considered in the near future.

The amended budget envisages AMD 1.1 trillion expenditures and AMD 852 billion incomes, the finance minister said, adding that the budget reflects Armenia's macro-economic situation.

He called the 2011 state budget as a "balanced and realistic" document.
