Russian media keep spotlight on recent scandal over Yerevan mayor

The recent scandal between Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan and presidential administration's Protocol Department employee Aram Kandayan has caught Russian media's spotlight. Citing Armenian media reports, several Russian-language websites (novoteka.ru, vsemi.ru, newsru.com and Azerbaijani website aze.az), detail on the scandalous incident.

The presidential administration has declared a boycott to Beglaryan and it's hard to predict whether or not Beglaryan will resign, they say.

Earlier, the Public Relations Department of Yerevan Municipality denied the reports on the incident. Later, they refused to make any comments, alleging that the head of department, Angela Martirosyan, was very busy. Tert.am correspondent's attempts to contact Martirosyan have been unsuccessful.
