Justice minister sacked for not disciplining Compulsory Enforcement Service chief

At the cabinet meeting on Thursday, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan addressed the issue of Justice Minister Gevorg Danielyan's dismissal.

"Minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan was fired due to improper performance of his official duties. We all must attach a primary importance to the observance of ethics rules and the behavior of officials in all government bodies. A gross violation of ethical norms was observed on the part of the chief of the Compulsory Enforcement Service. The justice minister was instructed to take actions against him in a public manner but he didn't comply with the instruction. I don’t think such conduct is permissible," PM Sargsyan said, stressing the importance of demonstrating a proper behavior.

"We must be very strict with inferiors, not allowing any conduct that arouses public distrust," he stressed.
