Armenia's PM concerned about car insurance in rural areas

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan has expressed concerns over the mandatory car insurance program, recently introduced in Armenia.

In a cabinet meeting today, Sargsyan said that the government should create favorable conditions for villagers who use their cars only a few months throughout the year.

"We should create favorable conditions for thousands of villagers so that they will be able to use their vehicles during those two-three months and get insurance for that period only," said he.

Further, he said he has instructed the police to design special procedures to facilitate the service they deliver to car owners when it comes to car registration.

"The police are instructed to present, within a week, to the government a decision that will clearly describe the regulations, and which will minimize the expenses that our villagers will be charged for vehicle registration," said he.
