Hosting Junior Eurovision 2011 is a matter of funds for Armenia

Hosting 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Armenia is a matter of funds, but Armenia has not made any final decision, the board chairman of the National Commission for TV and Radio (NCTR) has said.

At a press conference Alexan Harutyunyan said that it is not mandatory for a country to host the next contest when its representative wins the main prize.

But this refers to the junior song contest only, while the Senior Eurovision Song Contest is hosted each year by the winner of the previous contest.

"It is the countries that express their willingness to host the contest," said he. "The contest may not obligatorily be held in Armenia. We can submit an application."

Armenia has not submitted any application yet, he added.

Further he said he could not say whether or not Armenia will submit an application.

"I can't say whether or not we will submit one. We still have to see if we can do that," he explained, adding that no definite decision has been made yet.

Any country wishing to host this contest should submit an application before the close of December.

Vladimir Arzumanyan, a Karabakhi Armenian, won the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with his "Mama".
