Famous Armenologist passes away

Renowned German theologist and Armenologist, Professor Hermann Goltz passed away on Thursday at age 64, reported www.rheinmain.haypedia.org website.

For several decades, Goltz studied the Armenian Cause, making a considerable contribution to the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. He maintained the archives of Johannes Lepsius, the greatest friend of the Armenian nation. Thanks to his efforts, Lepsius' house in Potsdam was repaired and later turned into a research center. Goltz also played a significant role in having the German parliament elaborate and adopt a resolution on the Armenian Genocide.

His merit in introducing the German public to the theology of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the treasures of the Armenian intangible culture is inestimable.
