Opposition plans to punish forgers

As a measure to punish the individuals who forged facts concerning the March 1, 2008 events in Yerevan, the opposition Armenian National Congress has decided to collaborate with foreign missions in Armenia to persuade them to deny those people entry visas to European countries and the United States, the board director of Armenian Pan-National Movement, Aram Manukyan, told a news conference on Monday.

"In some cases, the United States or the European Union ban criminals and human rights violators' entrance to their countries. The recognition of the term 'political prisoner' already means that those people appeared in prison for their political views, not for a crime," he said, adding that all the international organizations have confirmed that there are political prisoners in Armenia.
