Drug smuggling attempts thwarted at Zvartnots airport, Meghri check-point

Armenia's National Security Service thwarted a drug smuggling attempt at the Zvartnots International Airport on December 11.
After double-checking the luggage of two foreign national who were traveling as transit passengers, the ANS officers found methamphetamine in their suitcases.

The organizer of the smuggling attempt was later arrested at the Meghri check-point on the Armenia-Iran border.

The total weight of the confiscated drugs at both the Zvartnots Airport and Meghri check-point is 3.68kg.
NSS has launched an investigation.
