Commission found 'fabrications' in A1+ TV's business plan, says Grigor Amalyan

Armenia's National Television and Radio Commission (NTRC) has denied A1+ TV a broadcast license for digital range over 'fake' documents in the package proposed by the TV channel.

NTRC Chairman Grigor Amalyan said that the Commission discovered that some documents in A1+ TV's package were 'fake and prepared by unknown people.'

"The existing fabrications in the business plan attest to the fact that the company [Meltex, LLC] cannot implement its program. The company plans to acquire funds, which it doesn't actually have," said Amalyan.

In Contest No. 11, where the competitors were Armnews and A1+ TV, the broadcasting license was given to the former.

A1+ TV has for a few times been denied broadcasting license after its license expired in 2002.

Further Grigor Amalyan said that Meltex, LLC had mentioned in its business plan that two influential international companies would support it. But the Commission found out that in case of the first company the name of the company and the one on the seal did not match.

This, according to Amalyan, prompted the Commission to send inquiries to the correspondent countries - UK and Belize - where the companies mentioned in the business plan had operated.

Relevant British agencies informed the Commission that no such companies are running any business there.

As what concerns the second case, it was revealed that the company mentioned had been dissolved a couple of years ago, Amalyan added.

He went on saying that it was also mentioned in the package that a group of benefactors are willing to donate 280,000 Euros to A1+ TV, but the document, authored by Anna Tanielian, was neither signed nor sealed.

Mesrob Movsisyan, the Director of A1+ TV could not be reached for a comment.
