Deputy premier meets with Egyptian journalists

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan received today a group of Egyptian journalists currently on a visit to Armenia.

Gevorgyan, who also is the head of the Armenian-Egyptian inter-parliamentary commission, briefed the guests on the current relations between Armenia and the Arab Republic of Egypt and the prospects for developing economic ties, the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration reported.

Gevorgyan expressed Armenian side's interests in deepening friendly relations with Egypt, focusing particularly on economic cooperation. He informed the journalists of Armenia's current efforts towards developing trade and economic ties and in that regard stressed the importance of the intergovernmental commission's session scheduled for next year.

Upon the guests' request, the deputy PM spoke of Armenia's economic potentials, considering IT sector, agriculture, construction and tourism the most promising fields for fruitful collaboration. In that connection he emphasized the importance of awareness raising and praised media efforts in keeping bilateral cooperation issues in the spotlight.
