Lien imposed on Ashot Yeghiazaryan's property

A lien has been imposed on Russian State Duma member Ashot Yeghiazaryan's three property pieces in the upscale district of Barvikha outside Moscow, the Russian news agency ITAR TASS reported.

Yeghiazaryan, who is accused of swindling large sums of money, is currently outside Russia. His family is with him.

On November 3, the Russian State Duma passed a decision to strip MP Ashot Yeghiazaryan off immunity. A few days later a criminal case under section 4, Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code was filed.

Yeghiazaryan's lawyers claim their defendant does not avoid meeting with law enforcers but prefers to take part in investigative operations in the United States.
