Nagorno Karabakh president receives officials from Europe
Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR, Artsakh) President Bako Sahakyan received on December 19 Tomasz Poreba, a member of the European Parliament, and permanent rapporteur on Armenian affairs.
Issues related to the Karabakh-Azerbaijani conflict settlement, the current situation in the region and the development of bilateral ties were discussed at the meeting.
The parties mutually underlined peaceful talks as the only means of settling the conflict and agreed that a full-fledged dialogue between all conflicting parties was the principal way of securing final stability.
Sahakyan and Poreba stressed Europe's role in maintaining peace and stability in the region, at the same time highlighting the importance of upgrading Nagorno Karabakh's relations with different European structures to a new level. In that context the parties agreed that visits to Nagorno Karabakh, would essentially contribute to having a more precise picture of the situation in the republic and the entire region.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of NKR National Assembly, Ashot Ghoulyan,
and other officials.
