Entrepreneur asks president to protect their business from 'encroachments' by prosecutor general
Shareholder of Shant Company Samvel Gharibyan has sent an open letter to Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan, asking him to interfere and protect his brothers against what he calls "the claws and encroachments" organized by Prosecutor General Aghvan Vardanyan.
In the letter, Samvel Gharibyan, who owns the company together with brothers Varsham and Manvel Gharibyans, says that it is a long time since the prosecutor general started to "incite disagreements" and even "seed hatred" between Gharibyan brothers.
"The bad thing about it is that all that is being organized by Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan. Mr President, I am personally deeply distressed when I see the conflict between my two brothers," reads the letter.
Samvel Gharibyan further says that, unfortunately, the prosecutor general takes counter measures to pressurize all the attempts by him and his relatives aimed at bridging the gaps between the two brothers.
Gharibyan also says that Aghvan Vardanyan wants to seize their family business.
"And for that purpose several illegal criminal cases have been and are being launched against my brothers, their employees and our relatives," said he in the letter.
"I am sure that the prosecutor general's mission is to ensure legality in the country and not seize people's property.
"Dear President,
"My brothers are loyal citizens of our country. Please, protect my brothers from the claws of the prosecutor general and the encroachments orchestrated by him."
