Turkish lobby groups are making immense efforts to prevent the Armenian Genocide Resolution (Res. 252) from being voted on at the House of Representatives, according to an article by the Turkish daily Zaman.

"The Federation of Turkish Unions in US and the Assembly of Turkish-American Associations have made a joint statement, calling on the Turkish society and pro-Turkish Americans to call and send e-mails to congressmen and ask them to oppose that resolution," reads the article.

Further, it said that similar actions have been taken also by the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) whose members are calling on the Turkish society to send e-mails and faxes to House Speaker Nancy Polici.

However, the article said that the Armenian lobby is also taking steps to bring the resolution to the House floor.

"With hours left before the beginning of the House Representatives session, the Armenian organizations in US are sending e-mails to congressmen and calling them," reads the article.
