Russian Novaya Gazeta to collaborate with WikiLeaks
The Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta said Wednesday that it has agreed to join forces with WikiLeaks to expose corruption in Russia, The Moscow Times reported.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is reported to have materials specifically about Russia that have not been published yet, and Novaya Gazeta has said it will help make them public.
Novaya Gazeta received unlimited access to the WikiLeaks database, which has a “wide range” of materials, including documents about Anna Politkovskaya’s murder in 2006 as well as information about Russian politicians’ ties to organized crime, newspaper spokeswoman Nadezhda Prusenkova said by phone. The newspaper will start releasing materials next month.
