Armenians cooperating with Georgian authorities won't remain unpunished – Zhirayr Sefilyan
The Armenians who cooperate with Georgian authorities and follow their instructions, will definitely be punished, a former Armenian freedom fighter has said.
In a press conference today, the coordinator of Sardarapat movement, Zhirayr Sefilyan, said he is urging on those Armenians is to stop what he called their "treacherous" activities.
"I am urging on those Armenians who cooperate with and obey the Georgian authorities to quit their treacherous stance," said he.
Sefilyan also said that if Georgia continues "its plans of depopulating Georgia of Armenians", it will have a similar situation that Azerbaijan has when it comes to Karabakh.
"They will have the variant of liberated Karabakh," said he.
Sefilyan also said that if some government officials of Armenian origin in Karabakh evaded punishements after the 1988 uprising, this will not be the case with the Georgia-based Armenians.
The current situation in Javakhk, according to him, reminds of the situation that existed in Karabakh in 1988, when government officials there too were thinking that by carrying out Baku's instructions they would go unpunished.
"I want to remind all Armenians, who cooperate with the authorities in Tbilisi and follow all anti-Armenian instructions, that they have been greatly mistaken by thinking they will remain unpunished," said Sefilyan.
"The same policy pursued by the authorities in Tbilisi to having Armenians leave [Georgia], is unfortunately being carried out by Armenians living there," he explained, adding that in this sense the situation in Georgia is escalating.
