Iran maintains good ties with both Armenia and Azerbaijan - Ahmadinejad

The Islamic Republic of Iran maintains good ties with both Armenia and Azerbaijan, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahadijnejad has said at the Economic Cooperation Organization's summit, the Turkish news agency Anadolu reported.

In his speech, the Iranian leader addressed such issues as the deployment of anti-missile defense elements on Turkey's territory, WikiLeaks disclosures, his country's ex-Foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki 's resignation, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as the Armenian-Iranian, Turkish-Iranian and Iranian-Azerbaijani relations.

Speaking of the Karabakh conflict, Ahmadinejad particularly said: "We are confident that all kinds of problems between countries can be resolved through a dialogue. We maintain close and historically developed firm ties with Azerbaijan. We support the Azerbaijani people's rights. Our relationship with Armenia is also on a positive track. We have said that we can assist in the process," he stated.
