Cabinet not yet responded to petition regarding mandatory car insurance law

The cabinet has not yet responded to the citizens' petition on the mandatory car insurance law, Armen Martirosyan of the opposition Heritage faction in parliament has told Tert.am.

He said he still hopes the petition would be considered.

Heritage organized on December 21 protest car rallies against the law on mandatory car insurance in Yerevan and in four regions. At the end, the protesters submitted a petition to the cabinet, requesting that the cabinet should delay the enactment of the law and make improvements in it.

"Under the law, the cabinet has to provide a response to officials within 2 days; citizens shall get a response within 20-days' period. We still hope the request won't remain unanswered," Martirosyan added.
