Turkish press distorts Sinem Saniye's words: Armenians not to blame for cancelled concert

American-based Turkish Singer Sinem Saniye has told Ankara news agency that the Armenian community of the United States is not to blame for her recently cancelled concert. She said the Turkish press had distorted her words.

"My concert program was cancelled by LA Clippers basketball club. They said such decision had been made for security considerations, in view of the sensitive political situation. They also said around 20,000 spectators would be present in the concert hall, and that might give rise to security-related problems," the Turkish singer said.

"I have never blamed Armenians of this. I have never said racism prevents me from making career in music. I just said my concert was cancelled by LA Clippers," Saniye mentioned.

Earlier, the Turkish news newspaper Aksam published an interview with the Sinem Saniye where the Turkish singer said the Armenians in America had caused changes in her concert program.
