Somali extremists threaten US with terrorist acts

Somali extremists have threatened attacks against the United States if the US president does not meet their demands, the Voice of Moscow reported.

The leader of the al-Shabab group, the local branch of al-Qaeda, demanded that President Barack Obama accept Islam. He threatened to otherwise unleash attacks on the United States.

In July, al-Shabab committed terrorist attacks in the Ugandan capital killing 76 people. The group also previously masterminded bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, which killed over 200 people.
