Probe to be opened against Turkish football star

A probe will be opened into a case agaisnt Turkish football star Yusuf Cimcek, Turkish news agency Dogan reported.

Cimcek, who has a contract with the Beshiktash club and plays in Turkey's national team, is suspected of causing "physical harm" to his girl friend, a photo model.

Cimcek's girlfriend Burci Bashol, 25, turned to the police recently, saying his boy friend physically assaulted him.

Following her claim, Cimcek was summoned to the police where he denied any wrongdoing.
