Condominium associations to lessen municipality's burdens
If condominium associations become accomplished bodies, that will significantly reduce the municipality's burdens, Yerevan Mayor Karen Karapetyan told today a meeting with the heads of condominium associations and the authors of the the relevant law.
Expressing the municipality's willingness to assist condominium associations, the particularly said: "It is absolutely necessary for us to know that each building in Yerevan has someone taking care of all problems.
The meting focused on condominium associations' problems in managing housing economies and maintaining normal relatioship with inhabitants. As a key problem, the participants agreed that people are not pro-actively involved in the management process.
A strategy envisaging reforms within a five-year period has been elaborated but the existing law is not deemed satisfactory. It is planned conduct awareness raising activities among the emplyees of cndminium association.
The Mayo's Office has prepared letters of acknowledgement for 52 condomniumn associations in Yerevan. At today's meeting, Mayor Karen Karapetyan handed the letters to the representatives of 11 associations (from the communities of Arabkir, Ajapnyak, Avan, Kentron, Nor-Nork, shengavit, Erebuni, kanaker-Zeytun).
