In a visit to Ministry of Agriculture today, Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan introduced the newly-appointed minister Sergo Karapetyan to the ministry personnel, according to a press release by Armenia's government.

Sargsyan said that many at the ministry know Karapetyan as his activities have always been related to agriculture – especially when it comes to storing – and that he is well aware of the problems existing in the sector.

Armenia's PM expressed hope that the newly-appointed minister will quickly get adapted to the new job and will be able to carry out the reforms in the sector of agriculture.

Sargsyan also thanked former Agriculture Minister Gerasim Alaverdyan for the work he did during his tenure.

Sergo Karapetyan, in turn, thanked him, as well as the president, for the trust they had in him by appointing him to a position that requires great responsibility.

He also assured Tigran Sargsyan that he will spare no efforts to achieve tangible results and tackle the challenges stipulated in the government's action plan.
