An attempt to set fire Wednesday to the Tunisian Embassy in Switzerland has failed, officials said, M&G reported.

Incendiary devices were thrown at the embassy in Bern, the Swiss capital, just after midnight. Firefighters were rushed to the scene, but no damage was caused and by mid-morning no trace of the incident was visible on the embassy's facade.

The Swiss news agency SDA reported that police were conducting an investigation. The perpetrators had not yet been arrested.

A similar incident occurred Tuesday in Vienna, where a social club for Tunisian expatriates went up in flames in an arson attack in the morning. No one was hurt in the incident.

An Austrian police spokesman did not rule out a link to events in Tunisia and Switzerland.

A wave of demonstrations against high levels of unemployment has swept through Tunisia in recent days, claiming a number of lives.
