Ministers will make their activities in line with president's election platform, says PM
At a cabinet meeting today, Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed all the ministers to organize the activities of their relevant ministries so that to make them be in line with President Serzh Sargsyan's election platform.
The move is seen as an attempt to make the ministries' activities more accessible for the public.
The ministers were instructed to convene press conferences, elaborate on all the problems and to present the schedules of the activities to be implemented in 2011.
Sargsyan also said that this year the reforms to be made by the government will cover various sectors, such as pension delivery, mandatory car insurance system, as well as reforms related to business environment.
But first of all, according to him, the economy should be diversified.
Further Sargsyan said that the government is currently working on a comprehensive project to boost Armenia's industrial output. This year the government will focus also on reforms in the sector of agriculture.
Among other things, Sargsyan mentioned health care and education that also need reforms in an attempt to improve services delivered in these sectors.
