EU backs territorial integrity in Karabakh conflict - Jose Manuel Baroso
The European Union backs the principle of territorial integrity when it comes to the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said at a press conference in Baku.
"The conflict must be solved peacefully and on the basis of the principle of territorial integrity of the countries," Barroso was quoted by Azerbaijani news website 1news.az as saying.
He also said that the EU backs the efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict.
"We are concerned about the insignificant progress achieved over the NK conflict settlement. We do understand those people who are suffering from the conflict," Barroso said.
"We will back the agreements achieved between all the parties so far. If the conflict is solved, European Union is ready to support restoration process in the conflict zone."
