Police denies reports on passport deficit in Armenia

Some of Tert.am readers recently contacted the editorial office with complaints that passport desks at police departments refuse to issue them passports on the grounds that there is a passport deficit in Armenia.

One reader told the website that the passport desk at Arabkir district's police department had rejected his request for a passport, asking him to wait for a month.

To check the information, Tert.am contacted the Police which, however, denied the reports.

"Such information is untrue. All citizens submitting passport requests receive passports," the Public Relations Department of the Police told the website.
