EU may blacklist Russia' Putin

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin may enter the blacklist of the European Union in connection with the case over Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev, the Russian news portal News BCM said, citing a report by the New Times magazine

The EU intends to impose sanctions against the officers and officials relating to the verdict for the high-profile case of Yukos.

The sanctions, which MEPs intend to apply in relation to persons involved in the black list, include not only the ban on entry to the EU countries, but also the closing of bank accounts. According to Kristina Ojuland, a member of the European Parliament, "Europe will stop at nothing to ensure that human rights are respected in Russia".
