Armenia to host Junior Eurovision 2011

The 2011 Junior Eurovision song contest will take place in Armenia, Gohar Gasparyan, the head of the Armenian delegation to Eurovision 2011, told a news conference on Tuesday.

"Armenia will finally have the chance to host Eurovision on December 3, 2011," she said, adding that the Public Television had greatly contributed to the organization of the event in Armenia.

"We are grateful to our young singer, Vladimir Arzumanyan, for his victory, as well as the Public Television for its fruitful cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union," she said.

As the director of the Armenian Public Television and Radio Company, Alexan Haurutyunyan said, special thanks should be expressed to Public Television's Executive Director Gagik Buniatyan, and Gohar Gasparyan for taking control of the entire process.

He said the contest will be held in Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex and added that a Swiss producer and world-famous stars have been invited to Armenia to take part in the event.

Speaking of the concert funding, he said the European Broadcasting Union will cover part of the expenses.

"We'll have sufficient funds," Harutyunyan said.
